The most famous landmark in Bangkok, "Grand Palace" was built in 1782, which is the residence of the King of Thailand, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government for 150 years. The palace complex and some impressive buildings are beautifully decorated with gold and glass which literally dazzle in the sun covering 218,400 square meters surrounded by walls built in 1783. The walls are 1900 meters long, which is situated government offices and the Royal Chapel of the Emerald Buddha besides the royal residence.
Thai King to stop living in the palace in the twentieth century palace complex and now happens to be a place for ceremonies marking all types of events and other good fortune in this country. Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) containing emeralds is very well known and highly respected Buddha that dates back to the 14th century changed the robe with the season on a profitable time as a very important event of the country. Outside court, near the entrance of the palace that used to house government departments in which the kings's directly involved, such as civil administration, army and treasurer.
